Manage global instruction files

Instruction files are local CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md-style text injected into sessions. Only one global file is active at a time; a role can select another file or opt out.

  1. Go to Settings → Instructions. The header offers Import from local apps and Add instruction.

  2. Click Import from local apps; Fynvra scans known locations. Select files and import. The import is linked: the source is read when a session starts, and Fynvra never modifies it.

  3. Click Add instruction, enter a name and content, and save a local Fynvra copy. You can also load content from “Choose a .md file…”. Markdown text up to 2 MiB is supported.

  4. The row switch enables the global file. Enabling one turns the others off because only one global file can be active.

In the role editor, Instruction file can follow the global choice, use none, or name a specific file. A specific file overrides the global choice and is read even if its global switch is off. Changes apply when the session next starts.

The list shows the active character count, source, and whether it is a local copy or a link. A missing or unreadable linked file is flagged and not injected. Removing an entry deletes only the Fynvra record; it never deletes or edits the original file.

Local copies are limited to 2 MiB; large text is not stored in settings.json. Linked files are read at session start, so source edits apply to the next session; edit and save a local copy here instead.
