Connect MCP servers
MCP servers add external tools for agents. Add a local process or remote service under Settings → MCP, or import existing local configs. As with skills, a role must select the server before a session loads it.
Add a server
Section titled “Add a server”-
Open MCP
Section titled “Open MCP”Go to Settings → MCP and click Add server.
-
Name it and pick a transport
Section titled “Name it and pick a transport”Transports are Local process (stdio), Remote (Streamable HTTP), and Remote (SSE).
-
Configure the connection
Section titled “Configure the connection”For stdio, enter the command, arguments (one per line), and environment variables. For remote, enter the URL and headers. Secret values stay on this computer; the list shows only key names.
-
Enable and save
Section titled “Enable and save”Check Enable and save. The card shows the transport, a masked command or URL, and the saved secret key names.
Import from this computer
Section titled “Import from this computer”Click “Import from this computer…”. Fynvra scans MCP configs from Claude Code, Codex, Grok CLI, Gemini CLI, Cursor, VS Code, OpenCode, and CC Switch. Select only the sources you need; results appear as candidates for confirmation before import. If nothing is found it says so, and existing entries with the same URL or command are marked as duplicates.
Toggle, edit, remove, and assign
Section titled “Toggle, edit, remove, and assign”The card switch enables or disables a server; the pencil edits it; the trash asks for confirmation, after which roles that reference it stop loading it. To assign it, open a role under Settings → Roles and select it in the MCP servers list; save, and new sessions pick it up.
MCP tool calls also go through approvals: Supervised and Auto-accept edits still ask; Full treats them as ordinary tools. Capability is still limited by the role’s tool policy.
